  With The Storage Spot, it's simple. We deliver a mobile storage unit to your location. You pack the storage unit at your convenience. Finally, call us and we'll pick-up and store it inside our storage warehouse for days, months or years. We will return the unit back to you when you are ready. You have the lock and the control!

  Do you sell packing supplies?
  No, though we sell locks sized especially for our Residential Storage Units.
 
  Will my items be safe?
  Let's face it – less handling means less lifting for you and less damage to your items. Once packed, you will feel secure locking your valuables with your own lock. One call and our professionals further secure your valuables in our clean, climate-controlled and alarmed facility. Also each unit is insured for up to $1,200 at no additional charge, we offer peace of mind and security.
 
  Will this really save me money?
  Our efficient method of storing these innovative mobile storage units allows us to pass the savings on to you. No long-term commitments are required, so whether you take advantage of short or long-term options, you save. And, our door-to-door system means saying goodbye to expensive truck rentals.
 
  Is Mobile Storage more expensive than traditional self-storage?
  Our monthly rental rates are comparable with self-storage facilities. Though when you factor in the cost of a truck rental or making several trips to the self-storage facility yourself, Mobile storage is more economical. Not to mention the added security of your belongings being stored in an alarmed warehouse.

  How many containers will I need?
  In general, as a rule of thumb, one mobile storage unit will hold 1 to 1½ rooms of furniture or household goods, up to 2,000 pounds in weight and approximately 300 cubic feet of storage space. If you overestimate the number of containers that you need, we'll happily pick up the empty containers without charge. You are only charged for what you use! If you are still unsure, just give us a call. Our expert storage consultants will be more than happy to assist you in estimating the number of containers you may need.

  How big are the mobile storage units?
  Each mobile storage unit measures 5' x 8' on the ground and are 7.5' tall (approximately the size of a large walk-in closet) with a single hinged door opening and a latch for your lock. Each unit will typically accommodate an average room to a room and a half of household goods. The containers sits about 4 inches off the ground to insure your belongings are safe and dry should the weather choose not to cooperate during the time you are loading.
 
  Will my large household items fit in a Mobile Storage unit?
  Almost all household goods will fit into our Mobile Storage units, including a king-size bed and baby-grand piano. Most large armoires or other tall items will fit into the container if laid on their side. The maximum length or height that will fit into the container is 93".
 
  Can I access my storage units while they are in storage?
  Yes. We understand that sometimes you put stuff in storage that you may need to access, therefore we offer free access to our customers. You may come to our warehouse any time you’d like. We just ask that you provide 2 business hour notice so that we can make proper arrangements. We'll position your containers in a convenient and safe place either inside our warehouse facility or outside for easy access.
 
  Can I be guaranteed of the delivery day and time that I want?
  Our goal is to be able to fulfill all requests with a three-day notice, but we recommend that you call five to seven days in advance, as certain days are more popular and fill up more quickly than others. Although we cannot guarantee an exact delivery or pick-up time, we can guarantee a certain time frame for your appointment.
 
  What are your hours?
  We're open Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. We're open Saturday and Sunday when an appointment is made earlier in the week. We answer the phone after hours so you may get ahold of us outside the hours we staff the facility. If not, leave a message and someone will call you back.
 
  Where are you located?
 

We are located at 919 Thor Drive, in Bloomington just off of Route 9 (Market Street) near Mitsubishi Motorway. We are a few minutes southwest of ISU and IWU (See the map below).


For MapQuest use 2520 West Market Street, Bloomington, IL. This is a new building on a new road (Thor Drive) which is not yet on MapQuest
 
  Are there any items prohibited to be stored in the units?
  Yes, do not store any of the following items in your unit: flammable or hazardous materials, weapons, illegal substances, explosive devices, perishables or liquids! Example: When storing lawn equipment drain all gas and oils before storing.
 
  What if my items are damaged or stolen when the unit is at my location?
  You are responsible for the security of the unit when it is at your location. Check with your insurance company to see if your items are insured while the unit is on your location.
 
  Are my items insured while they are in storage?
  Yes, each unit is insured for up to $1,200 at no additional charge. This coverage is in place when we are in control of your units. This insurance is not in place while the units are on your property or if you request your units to be left outside of our warehouse.
 
  What is the weight capacity of the single residential unit?
  The weight capacity of each unit is 2,000 pounds. The load should be evenly distributed to prevent shifting.
